Jason Derulo has a broken foot and needs crutches to get around, but the singer said that’s not a problem because he’s still scheduled to perform at Super Bowl Sunday.
The singer has been spotted walking with a cane, but he seems ready for his latest challenge. A few days ago, he shared the news of his third return to Tik Tok Tailgate for the third year, and he and The Black Keys will perform live on the NFL’s Tik Tok account on February 12.
According to TMZ, the “Wiggle” artist broke his foot three weeks ago during a basketball game. The injury occurred after he fell while trying to grab a rebound. However, his injury does not appear to be serious, with only minor fractures and torn ligaments.
Jason Derulo’s treatment included some stem cell injections, which will speed healing and recovery, and the artist underwent daily physical therapy to help strengthen his legs and increase his mobility. The show was less than two weeks old.
Meanwhile, a Tik Tok Tailgate performance by Derulo and The Black Keys is scheduled to air before NFL games. On the same day, Rihanna will perform live during the halftime show. The lineup and entertainment package have yet to be shared with fans, but it’s sure to be something to look forward to since it’s Rihanna’s first return to the stage since 2016. Reports on the show have been scant, but so far we know that Jay-Z is an entertainment consultant for the NFL who will help curate the show along with Rihanna’s label, Roc Nation. As for collaborators, they haven’t been announced yet, but there are quite a few top artists in Rihanna’s vast catalog who may share the stage with her during the 6-minute show.
Meanwhile, Jason Derulo is one of Tik Tok’s highest paid creators. The artist spends a lot of time on the platform, even though he releases new music throughout the year.
