Skillibeng and Nardo Wick worked hard on “16CHOPPA” and dropped an equally tough accompanying visual.
Urban Islandz first reported that the disc jockey and Jacksonville rapper was spotted filming a music video in Florida. We also know that this collaboration will be Skillibeng’s first release since the beginning of the new year. The E-Syde spitter had a great last year and has been impressive in the dance halls for the past few years, so naturally we’re all locked in to everything he releases.
In the Jenzar-directed cut, Skillibeng rides in a boat with two weapons through Florida’s alligator-infested waters. He later made contact with Nardo Wick in a room full of weapons.
“E-Syde drop a head with choppa / 16 choppa looks like a quakker / Portmore run out pon dem wid the bammer / Head top splatter bwoy face splatter / Fans know we ain’t scared of a dem likkle man yah,” Skilli said in a paragraph Rhymes to a trap beat produced by his own EastSyde Records.
Hip hop and trap fans who aren’t familiar with dancehall might find the Jamaican artist’s lyrics difficult to understand, but if you’re a fan of the culture then you know it’s the iconic Skillibeng, and it’s often a hit. His charismatic delivery centered around clever wordplay and simple tone is enough to draw people to his music. While his dancehall style may come in for his fair share of criticism, Skillibeng’s fan base continues to grow rapidly, outpacing his peers in the genre.
Nardo Wick spat out with some fire sticks too, “Three, four, five choppas,? Six dead opps/ There’s seven hoes in the room, they’re all gobbled up/ Trying to set me up, blocka blocka blocka/ Oh me Say seven? Add four more blockas.”
