Lil Tjay shares the advice he got from veteran rapper and TV mogul 50 Cent after recovering from a shooting.
Lil Tjay was shot and wounded by a man who tried to rob him and his friend in a mall parking lot in New Jersey. The rapper was shot seven (7) times in the body and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition as he fought for his life. Fortunately, the rapper recovered unscathed and suffered no major injuries to his body.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the Bronx rapper shared that he got some solid advice from 50 Cent shortly after the shooting.
“Every artist needs to suffer or feed in some way. Right here, you shake this shit off,” Tjay said the rapper told him while he was still in the hospital but recovering.
“You get great length. You’ll be bigger than ever,” adds 50 Cent.
A suggestion from 50 Cent may make more sense than someone else’s since 50 Cent has been in a similar position in the past. The rapper narrowly escaped death in 2000 after being shot nine times. In an interview, Lil Tjay said 50 Cent revealed that he also got a call from Diddy, who gave him the same advice and support that he is giving Tjay now. He noticed that Dee Dee had also called him to show his support.
Lil Tjay also recalled the moment he was shot, noting that everyone around him feared it could get worse.
“I don’t even know [if] I know it’s seven times,” he said. “It’s different when they start attacking you. Time and time again, it’s like, yo! I’m not going to lie, everyone, that person was there, saw me — admittedly, it looked like it was over. “
The rapper also recalled the moment he regained consciousness after five days in a coma, but when he woke up it felt like only a few hours.
“The lady at the hospital came up to me and said, ‘Hey, you didn’t look too good the other day, man… I was thinking, ‘The other day? What did you mean the other day?'” This The rapper recalled his conversation with the nurse.
The rapper also spoke about his fear that he might lose his voice after a bullet lodged in his neck and had to be removed after he regained consciousness.
“I could feel the bullet too,” he said. “She was touching my neck, and I could feel a bullet, and I was like, ‘Yo, this is crazy.’ All I could think was, ‘What? I have a story to tell,'” Tjay said of the said in a brave moment.
The rapper recently marked his return to music with Ice Spice’s “Gangsta Boo,” which samples Diddy’s songs. Tjay also joked that he is working on new music that will be released this year.
