Kanye West He landed in legal trouble after a video surfaced of him snatching a woman’s phone. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Ye was under investigation for the battery after a video surfaced showing Ye taking his phone while the woman was taking pictures of him from the inside of the car and then turning it thrown into the street.
according to Ventura County Star, Deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff responded late Friday afternoon to a battery incident involving celebrity Kanye West near the Sports Academy on Rancho Conejo Boulevard in Newbury Park, officials said. The incident was reported around 4:37 p.m. after West reportedly got into an altercation with a woman, Sheriff Capt. William Hutton said. No arrests have been made yet, Hutton said, but it is an ongoing, active investigation.
In the video, Kanye can be heard saying something along the lines of “You guys wouldn’t run at me like that. If I said stop”…”Stop using your cameras.
The woman said she wasn’t running, and replied, “Kanye, you’re a celebrity.”
Ye then took the phone from her and threw it into the street before returning to his SUV and driving away before law enforcement officers arrived at the scene.
As of Sunday afternoon, no one had been formally arrested.
