Playboy has announced the official launch of their newest independently owned and operated denim line. The 18-piece collection will feature skinny low-rise skater pants, high-rise wide-leg jeans, flared jeans, straight-leg jeans and more. Covering both menswear and womenswear, styles come in washes including black waxed, camouflage print, powder stone wash and classic blue denim, featuring Playboy’s famous bunny logo.
While this is the first time Playboy has launched a solo denim line, the collection follows the launch of their solo lingerie line earlier this year. Previously, they have worked with retailers such as Amiri, Pleasures, Supreme, Pacsun and more. Known as a staple of many wardrobe staples, the staple fabric meets Playboy heritage for a solid fit.
Ashley Kechter, President, Global Consumer Products Group, PLBY Group Inc., parent company of Playboy, said: “Through our licensing partnership, we have seen strong demand for Playboy-branded denim and we are excited to launch Playboy’s first owned and operated brand. The brand. The denim collection is in time for the holiday season. We look forward to continuing to expand our in-house business and will leverage these new product lines across the Playboy ecosystem, including through our strong network of creators.”
The evolution of fashion revolves entirely around the ecosystem around it. To stay fit for a new generation, a modern style is necessary. “We leveraged the recognizable brand codes of the bunny head and masthead logos—interpreting them for the modern client with custom studs and leather jacrons, decorative graphics, patches and prints,” said Jason Mahler, vice president of design for PLBY Group Inc.
As denim enters into a nostalgia for bygone style eras, its ongoing fashion gift leaves room for innovation. With an emphasis on adding value through quality and fit, the clothing line aims to meld tradition with style.
Playboy denim is available on the Playboy website, with prices ranging from $80 to $110.
