TikTok unveils their first Visionary Voices roster, honoring Black creatives, small business owners and culture changers on TikTok, as well as #BlackTikTok shows and initiatives commemorating Black History Month, such as special guests and album playlists , week-long #womeninhiphop festivities and more!
The #BlackTikTok community is at the vanguard of culture and creativity, from creating viral dance and sound to teaching neglected black history to celebrating Black Joy through music, fashion, health and more. TikTok is honoring #BlackTikTok this Black History Month and throughout the year to highlight the cultural impact of this community.
TikTok celebrates Black History Month by highlighting innovators, changemakers and small companies at the forefront of #BlackTikTok and culture in general. Our celebrations will include the release of our first Visionary Voices list, the third edition of the Visionary Voices media salon series, black music playlists, LIVE programming, and more.

Kahlil is a Yale alumnus who served as the college’s first black president in its 318-year history. His aim is to educate young people about how American society works through commentary on American politics and culture.

The 23-year-old rising singer first popped the question on her viral song “Munch (Feelin’ U),” and it’s been around since. Maiya, a 20-year-old TikTok makeup artist and beautician, shot to fame with her new single “Telfy,” a tribute to the black-owned fashion label Telfar.

A first-generation American of Jamaican and Chinese parents, he founded Brandon Blackwood NYC in 2015 and is deeply influenced by his personal life, as each bag is named after his family, close friends, or where he lived place named. He was also recently nominated for a CFDA Award for Best Accessories Designer, and his label has since grown into eyewear, outerwear and footwear.

@juicybodygoddess (Charlotte, NC) – Summer Lucille is a Charlotte, NC-based creator and entrepreneur who fuses her love of fashion with developing women’s confidence through TikTok videos. She tells people they are appreciated and encourages everyone to love their shape, belly and body, no matter what size or weight.
@spicekitchengrill (Brentwood, MD) – Olumide Shokubi, founder and owner of Spice Kitchen, is a first generation Nigerian-American who is dedicated to reforming, educating and empowering Black people globally. General manager Marcus Bryan is trying to promote the appeal of black food by sharing this gem of West African street food with the world through creative videos on TikTok.
@urbandessertlab (New York, NY) – Urban Dessert Lab is the world’s first oat milk ice cream stand, founded by Courtney B. and Zan BR. The duo, who have a cult following and national media and celebrity recognition for their plant-based concoctions, which include handcrafted soft-serve ice cream, hard-serve ice cream, cakes, toppings and concoctions, have one location in New York City and a second A store is opening soon in West Hollywood, CA. Zan and Courtney regularly work with organizations that raise awareness of social justice issues and use TikTok as a platform for the community to interact, engage and share great content.
